WALNUT CREEK – The Garamendi for Congress campaign today announced that it has raised $1,055,183.83 for its campaign in California’s 10th Congressional District special election.
Since August 13, the Garamendi for Congress campaign has raised $537,814.86, including $115,944.52 since October 14. The campaign has $133,288.89 Cash on Hand and $34,400.76 in outstanding bills.
Lieutenant Governor Garamendi remarked, “We have the resources we need to finish strong and we continue to take nothing for granted. Our volunteers will continue working diligently to make sure the people of the 10th Congressional District are represented by a leader who shares their values.”
Lieutenant Governor John Garamendi is a Regent of the University of California and a Trustee of the California State University. He chairs the California Commission for Economic Development and the California State Lands Commission. He was twice elected California’s Insurance Commissioner, where he created the best consumer protection agency in the nation. President Bill Clinton appointed Garamendi to the position of Deputy Secretary of Interior. Garamendi served 16 years in the California Legislature, where he served as Senate Majority Leader.
