COLUSA, CA – On January 14, Congressman John Garamendi, a candidate for California’s new third Congressional District, joined local duck hunters, city residents, firefighters and business owners on a walkthrough of the city of Colusa. Following meet and greets with local businesses, Congressman Garamendi went door-to-door to introduce himself to new constituents.
Starting from the steps of city hall, Congressman John Garamendi connected with local residents and neighbors, sharing with them his vision for a "Make it in America" agenda in the new 3rd Congressional District.
"We must prioritize goods and services made right here in America, so we can rebuild our manufacturing sector and create well-paying jobs here in Colusa," Congressman Garamendi said.
Congressman Garamendi is the author of two Make It In America bills that require all transportation and clean energy equipment purchased with federal taxpayer dollars to be built in America. Congressman Garamendi believes that America’s ability to remain competitive in an increasingly globalized economy requires a commitment to America’s manufacturers and start up companies.
Congressman Garamendi later visited the Colusa Post Office, the Colusa Fire Department, and other local businesses in the area.
