Team Garamendi had a terrific weekend!

On Friday, I attended the Candidates Forum at the Jewish Community Center in Walnut Creek. More than  250+ people packed the hall to listen to the candidates and ask questions.

This was true democracy in action! Regular people engaged in good old-fashioned retail politics – hand-to-hand, face-to-face with the candidates.

I enjoyed seeing old friends, making new ones and answering the range of questions from the members of the Lamorinda Democratic Club, Democrats of Rossmoor, Diablo Valley Democratic Club and San Ramon Valley Democrats.

Our volunteers, along with the famous Golden Bear, were out in force.

On Saturday, we celebrated the grand opening of our Campaign Headquarters in downtown Walnut Creek.  It's in a great location, two blocks from Broadway Plaza at 1661 Botelho Drive at S. California, in the Palm Court / Petco Center.

Over 150+ people visited the headquarters, met with us, our family and volunteers throughout the day. Dozens of new volunteers signed up to be part of Team Garamendi too!

After eating some delicious pasta salads and sandwiches, delivering a brief speech and chatting with attendees, I left with our volunteers to knock on doors in Walnut Creek.

Great reception as I spoke with residents about my campaign, asked for their thoughts and concerns about the major issues of the day.

It's refreshing to put on the good ol' walking shoes, enjoy the beauty of our community and chat with folks about the future. There is much work to do!
